Can / do NY C&F Boards ever drug test potential applicants? Assume no red flags on the application and they answer "no" to currently using any illegal drugs. Asking for a friend, obviously.

I proceed under the assumption that the bar can basically do whatever the fuck it wants.

This. I have no evidence of this whatsoever other than my vague notion that the bar is a priv and not a right so if they say jump ask how high.

I mean so do people realistically stop smoking or whatever before their bar interview or whatever to make sure u piss clean? Or would that just be paranoid

I've heard of monitored sobriety as a condition of admission/delaying admission until there's x period of time of demonstrated sobriety. But I've never heard of "pee in a cup right now u suspected addict."
