Screening Interview Callbacks; Low Tier 1 School

Post by bailey18 » Sun Feb 21, 2016 11:55 pm

Hi,

Just wanted to see how my chances were with a regional firm in the midatlantic region.

I finished last semester - my 1L fall - with a 3.92. I taught 3 years prior to law school with TFA, and I am very involved with leadership positions (1l Prez). I don't want to sound like a doushe; I just wanted to give you guys background info so I can get honest feedback.

Anyway, my law school is barely Tier 1. Rarely any 1Ls receive SA positions; only 2 firms OCI in the spring. I applied for the firm OCIs, and received both of them. The interviews were Wednesday and Thursday of this past week. I interviewed with hogan lovells Wednesday and another more regional firm Thursday. I got a callback from Hogan, but haven't heard from the more regional firm. My friend heard from the regional firm; she received a callback but interviewed with different people (and had .1 lower GPA) Is this unusual? Should I be panicking? Sorry I know this is probably a really dumb question. I'm pretty new to the 1L SA job search and want to know what you all would recommend.

Thanks for all the help.
