While we have the crystal ball out, is biotech lumped in with this tech crash? Or is Boston fucked too?

Take comfort in the likelihood that IP lit will be somewhat less fucked than tech trans.Desert Fox wrote:I think we will be mostly insulated right? Not a ton of work comes out of SV right?

And for IP lit, I bet a lot of these failed companies will have tons of patents ripe for MONETIZATION

Are start-ups really a significant source of patent litigation in the first place?
Tech trans is probably fucked though.

Re: Impending Tech Crash and Effect on BIGLAW
I've certainly been hoping / crossing my fingers for a bubble-burst that leads to a spike in litigation.
That said, most of this has been based on business method and social bs, so the patents might be worthless, and with bad precedents reducing other kinds of litigation you'd get after a big unwinding... I don't know. I think if there's none of the usual counter-cyclical bump in litigation, we can safely confirm that we're in a new normal i.e. we are all screwed. Can't wait to find out.

Serious Q from a 2nd year corporate associate at V5 NYC looking to move back to my home of SF soon.
Is there real reason for me to second guess this move?
