Lateral to Biglaw Abroad

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Jan 06, 2016 3:32 pm

Does anybody have information/advice re: how to lateral to a biglaw firm abroad? A few related questions: How feasible is this? Is it possible as a (M&A) junior? What are the expat packages like ITE? If the candidate's relevant secondary language skills are minimal (or nonexistent), are they limited to, for example, London, or is Asia possible? What is the best way to move - speak with recruiters or contact the firms directly?

Assume that the lateral candidate went to HYSCCN and is at a V10.

Thanks!

If you do some searches in the archive you'll see there are a variety of threads addressing recruitment in Asia and in Europe, also compensation, language relevancy, practice area, and stage of career. You might get more and better feedback if you have more targeted questions.

Edit: Whoops! Just saw the this was from a year ago, and the bump was from today. Same idea, though.
