This saddens me although I'm sure I'll hit this point as dings start to roll in.

A lot will pop on symplicity and at random times. My in-house job popped up in like March, and IMO it was the best non-SA job I could have asked for. Make sure you write solid cover letters exemplifyng your work experience rather than your academic experience. At least my GC cares so much more about work experience than anything else, including grades. I would bet that is pretty consistent for in-house positions as they need to believe you can quickly pick up and understand the business. If you're applying for smaller legal departments, highlight how you can work independently and without direction from superiors.

Sent out 17 1L SA apps today since apparently timing is important, we'll see how that goes (since I may already be too late?) probably not going to do anymore firms (except maybe small ones?) but will do gov stuff after finals

I for one really appreciate that you don't want us to spend our precious time thinking about just what type of position buckiguy_sucks applied for today

Heard back from a COA judge's chambers. Sounds like they are planning to wrap up hiring next week

Got a call from a Chicago number. The anxiety of dings/acceptances/anything is real. Although of course I missed it and it was probably a marketing call, but oh still.

To be fair, right now no one's calling to accepting you (law firms, anyway), and law firms never call to ding you. If that's the reaction you have now, you're in for a treat come OCI.

I'm aware rationally I shouldn't be worried but c'mon now! It's natural for now.

that would be great if it was true. I know a few people that got phone dings after OCI callbacks. never say never!
but seriously, no one's calling to ding you based on an unsolicited app. virtually all dings will be email or snail mail. as others have said, go into this expecting dings from every firm. some will ding you, some will offer only radio silence, but you might be surprised when one bites for an interview.

Just mass blast into the void and then forget about it. Think about it again when and if you get some sort of response.

If the firm had an online application site should I send an email to a local office legal recruiter (or someone?) too or nah

Got an offer to meet at a pretty large firm (in a secondary market) over break.
Few "come back with grades", and yes a couple dings. All of my apps have been to secondary markets/non-diversity. Think I'm done blasting until after exams - did about 15-20 perhaps who knows.
