Sorry if this has already been asked, but do all 1L SA dings come with a callback offer for 2L summer or can I feel a teeny tiny bit better about my rejection today? :(

Need a bit of advice. 1L at flagship school in the South. Offer 1: 10 week in-house internship with F150ish company in nearby major market Offer 2: 5 week offer from firm in state capital that handles mass-tort litigation primarily. Jumped the gun a little and accepted the in-house offer day before i received second offer. in-house office doesn't seem willing to allow me to split. Figured 1L would be the most appropriate time to experience in-house, but my heart is in lit. in-house offer is more financially beneficial too (even though i know that that shouldn't matter). opinions welcome.

In house internship at F150 is great. Take it and don't look back.

Screwed for desirable things, perhaps even for anything giving you some actual legal experience, but I assume you can at least swing an RA gig at your school or something

I'm sad I missed getting a ding from Miller & Chevalier. Heard several folks never applied but got fantastically rude ding letters anyway.

No you're not. There are plenty of firms still looking for 1L SAs and companies looking for legal interns. Just this week I heard of three 1L openings at firms.

I know of 1 going to Dallas and 1 in Austin, both from UT. I can't speak to the GPA or anything for the one going to Dallas, but the one in Austin got the top grade in at least 2 of our 4 classes and has a GPA over 4.00
