Has anyone accepted an offer from the USAO for the ND of GA? If so, have you received confirmation of your acceptance and/or information regarding the background check?

Hello friends,

So I very recently did a CB for a 1L diversity SA position in California. Unfortunately, I didn't get it, but I have heard of some people who applied for the same position in previous years that also didn't get an offer, but did receive an automatic CB before OCI their second year. In these cases, do people normally get the CB interview with the rejection, or do firms reach out later in the year?

Interested in this since I'm in a similar position. What market btw?

I received auto CBs in the rejection letter. NY market. How common are these auto CBs? Some firms offered them to me and some did not (the more grade conscious firms just said "send us updated materials in June" whereas others just straight up offered the CB.

This is for diversity SAs? Haven't gotten any autoCBs following my rejections after CB so I'd say you are in great shape.

Some were from diversity SAs, others not. Without getting into too much detail, I participated in a couple different diversity programs that firms have relationships with, maybe that's why I got CBs? Not sure.

I didn't do diversity so I didn't see these but what does it say? Just call me in July to set up your call back

Some said to reach out in the summer if I want to reapply for 2L and others said they would contact me in the summer. The ones who asked for updated materials did not offer a CB (I think my grades were too low).

Haven't been dinged in Dallas yet, but received "we are full emails" from Bracewell, NRF, VE and Gibs Bruns Houston.

Houston seems to be moving faster with dings than dallas. Nothing I screened for, just a bunch following apps. And Austin is just ignoring me completely

If it's not a CB, it's a rejection. It's a friendly rejection though.

I know people who have received offers/accepted. However, I think each bureau has its own timeline.

I think that is standard rejection. The ones where I got callbacks explicitly said I could skip OCI and go directly to the callback interviews.

If it's not a CB, it's a rejection. It's a friendly rejection though.

They are both rejections for 1L. I think the question is whether it's a rejection + auto CB for 2L.

What is the minimum notice required before cancelling a callback? Is 20 hours before enough? Seems like a waste of all of our time if I went through with it.

I would go through with it. 20 hours is too short notice IMO.

Seems disingenuous since I already accepted another offer though? Its actually about 40 hours from now, but I wanted to wait for the offer letter to come in.

I already know the answer to this but I'm asking anyway. Had a CB last Tuesday, was told they would call either way and it would be the end of last week or early this week. I haven't heard anything so fae. Can I call the recruiting person tomorrow (or Monday if that's better)

You can, but the call will not likely accomplish anything. Sounds like you are their #2 or #3 candidate, and they are waiting to hear back from their top choice.
