Character and Fitness Concern (Police Stop)
It was a rainy night a few weeks ago, and my boyfriend and I were driving and got lost. We stopped in the parking lot of a public park. Suddenly, the light of a police car shone upon our car. The police came out, and asked us what we were doing, We said that we were just talking. The police said that the park was closed after dusk and that we were not supposed to park in that parking lot at that time. The police asked us for our identification and we produced it. The police officer then went back to his car with our identification. The police returned the identification to us after a few minutes and let us go.
Do I have a criminal record? Do I have to disclose this to C&F?

No.
But stop sucking dicks in public parks if you're trying not to have a criminal record.

Do you realize that each thread is not a parallel universe?

Re: Character and Fitness Concern (Police Stop)
I was planning on NOT disclosing, but my Dean told me otherwise, which made me pause. There must be a police report or something (hence why he asked for my ID) about the incident, but I was not arrested or cited for anything.ClubberLang wrote:Do you realize that each thread is not a parallel universe?

My Dean told me to err on the side of full disclosure. I was totally intending to conceal this incident until I had a conversation with the Dean.Nebby wrote:Did you even go to law school?BlueLotus wrote:I was planning on NOT disclosing, but my Dean told me otherwise, which made me pause. The cop ran your identity to see if you had any warrants. You were clean, so they told you to be on your way. There is no report. There was no indecent. There's nothing to disclose.

No, face to face conversation. I said that I got stopped and asked for my ID, and then the officer let me go on my merry way. I was not cited or arrested for anything. The officer just ran a search on my ID.landshoes wrote:did you email your dean about this

I'm having a hard time here. I thought you graduated and passed the bar. Why didn't you just tell the C+F examiner you were exchanging letters with?BlueLotus wrote:No, face to face conversation. I did not tell the C&F examiner because this was a minor incident--I was not issued an arrest or a citation.ClubberLang wrote:I'm having a hard time here. I thought you graduated and passed the bar. I see, but you went back to the law school that you already graduated from to have a face to face conversation with the dean about it?BlueLotus wrote:I did not tell the C&F examiner because this was a minor incident--I was not issued an arrest or a citation.ClubberLang wrote:I'm having a hard time here. The Dean is in charge of certifying students for character and fitness for the bar.ClubberLang wrote:I see, but you went back to the law school that you already graduated from to have a face to face conversation with the dean about it?BlueLotus wrote:I did not tell the C&F examiner because this was a minor incident--I was not issued an arrest or a citation.ClubberLang wrote:I'm having a hard time here.
