Which firms are "lifestyle" firms? Forum

I hear the term " lifestyle" firm get tossed around a lot but I'm not totally clear what it means. Are all lower V100 firms automatically considered "lifestyle" firms or is it office specific?

Ranking doesn't matter in this regard. But be careful, "lifestyle" just means you might have a couple of more weekends off here and there per year.

I would double check this. I know someone who was there and left because things were becoming more formal there.

Contrary to conventional law student wisdom, law firms aren't homogeneous. Certain groups, such as tax, are considered more "lifestyle-friendly" overall, but this will vary widely by firm and even by partner.
