Deadline to accept conundrum
So I have an offer that expires Tuesday. Another firm I interviewed with said I'd hear from them by tomorrow but I've yet to receive any word. Is it realistic to expect to hear tomorrow? Do firms usually stick to the timeline they give you?

Accept the offer you have. Do not bank on the other firm to respond in time. If you get the offer (which it sounds like you would prefer), then bail on Firm 1. Whatever you do, do not let the offer expire in hopes of hearing from Firm 2.

Right, I definitely will accept the one I have if I don't hear tomorrow. In general though, are firms usually good about abiding by the timelines they give you in terms of when to expect a decision?

It varies. Some firms stick to their timelines while others don't. I would email firm 2 and explain your situation.

Definitely do this. You have nothing to lose by emailing them saying you need to hear by close of business (or whenever gives your reasonable time to accept the other offer).instride91 wrote:It varies.
