Ask for more bar stipend in return for doing cheaper bar review course?
Hi all,
I was considering Themis for bar review, which I know is much cheaper than BARBRI. Has anyone ever ask to get more in their bar stipend in return for doing a cheaper bar review (because firms typically cover the cost)?

Extremely doubtful and may make your judgment appear questionable.

Nice way to commit two frauds. (Hint: BarBri license is non-transferable.) Aren't you into IP law, DF?You find someone at school who was going to buy Barbri.
You sell them your account for somewhat less than Barbri costs
OP: I hope you haven't taken ethics yet.

i haven't done anything unethical. i'm only asking questions about how to be incentivized to get a cheaper course and not waste firm money.

My IP classes didn't discuss the Barbri license, but maybe some schools spend time on specific stuff like that and state law and other "practical stuff."Big Dog wrote:Nice way to commit two frauds. Really, this is not a profit opportunity for you. Take whatever bar course you want but don't expect to be rewarded for it.Anonymous User wrote:i haven't done anything unethical. i'm only asking questions about how to be incentivized to get a cheaper course and not waste firm money.

This. Life is not an econ course where you are trying to avoid some type of deadweight loss or achieve Pareto efficiency in every transaction. Take your check, your course of choice and leave well enough alone.dixiecupdrinking wrote:Really, this is not a profit opportunity for you. Are you the type who stands at cross walks and audibly gasps when someone jaywalks too?Big Dog wrote:Nice way to commit two frauds. (Hint: BarBri license is non-transferable.) Aren't you into IP law, DF?You find someone at school who was going to buy Barbri.

Sign up for the most expensive BARBRI freedom package (or whatever) and cop that $500 gift card.
Or get Themis and flip their free iPad / Kaplan and their free Apple Watch.

2014: are you suggesting that filing false expense reimbursement reports, as DF hinted at, is ok?
