Now that MLB's merger with Bingham is about a year old, any word on the health of the firm today? I'm really interested in them but not sure how the firm has been impacted by the merge.
I'm specifically interested in the NYC office - can anyone shed any light on it? Also wondering about whether the benefits/reimbursements etc. are same as other big NYC firms.

Also interested in this... not so much re the amenities/reimbursements, but overall culture + bonus/comp info would be helpful. I know the bonuses are discretionary, but how close are they to market? What about annual raises?

Re: Morgan Lewis post-merger
I'm a junior associate in a major office of MLB and I really like it here.
Base salary is market; raises are market; benefits are about the same as you would get any major firm (included life insurance, decent medical/dental/vision).
Bonuses are merit based - for example, as a first year, the range is $2,500 to $40,000. The process is very opaque but I hear it's very closely correlated to billables. Some mid-level to senior associates have told me that they are significantly out-earning their friends/spouses in other biglaw firms when you factor in bonuses - though these associates also work a lot, so there's that.
Culture depends on the office you're working out of - in general, I'm told that MLB is a little more "conservative" than Bingham, which reputedly has a more "familial" atmosphere. I think the exact words I heard were "Bingham people are more huggy." They have adopted Bingham's tradition of casual Fridays. But I've worked with people that are legacy Morgan and legacy Bingham and I think everything is melding together pretty well. I came to Morgan Lewis because I liked the people, and I find that I really like all the Bingham folks I've come across as well.
Health of the firm seems excellent. Historically Morgan Lewis has been a fairly fiscally conservative firm - they are not known for the splashiness of some NY firms, but overall this gives you the feeling that management is careful/not wasteful with money. They take in comparable less summers for a firm of their size and seem fairly decent at, and fairly invested in, retaining associates.
