Transportation and Space Practice Group

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Sep 26, 2015 12:34 pm

Can anyone give me some insight into this PG? I understand the basic concepts (represent financial institutions or sponsors of projects involved in those areas), but I'm looking for a more understandable description of what exactly this group does. Is it basically project finance, only for more specific industries? Not a lot of info out there about this relatively obscure group. Thanks.

I spoke to a Milbank associate in this group who said it's basically project finance for a specific industry. It sounded like they do a lot of work with satellites, and in terms of cost, gov't involvement/regulation, structure, etc. I could see it being more similar than different to other projects work. I take it to be a marketing strategy by Milbank (anyone else have this PG?) to sell its partners that have have made their niche in x industry.

I've also heard these folks are sometimes, though rarely, invited to see satellites launch. Sounds pretty dope, especially considering as space becomes more commercialized there'll probably be more work in this area AND maybe you'd have first dibs on a trip to the moon or what have you. I'm basing this all on my five minute conversation though...
