Paul Hastings v Fried Frank (both DC) Forum

Leaning lit, particularly FCPA. Know that Fried Frank is focusing on bulking up their litigation in general, particularly in white collar, but PH is currently better in this area and also focusing on growing its white collar practice.

That being said, the opportunity to do NYC-type corporate work out of DC at FF is appealing, in case I end up going that route. Thoughts? I'll ultimately make my own decision of course but wanted to know if anyone here had additional insight.

Also, before anyone starts, office set-up/arrangements is not really a factor in the choice!

Do you want to be in DC forever? One thing to think about is that PH is much bigger w/ multiple offices across the country (aside from NY). That played a role in my decision making when I made a similar choice last year.

As of now, I see myself in DC for the long haul. That being said, if I ever left the area I do appreciate that PH has a larger presence (and alumni network at that). But geography not currently a huge concern. Thanks!

If you have any real desire (or think that you may have a desire after significant exposure) to do transactional work, I do not see how FF is not the correct choice here. FF has one of the better transactional practices in DC.

Thanks--after talking to more and more corporate lawyers, I think I could find certain subsets of transactional law interesting. That being said, I am particularly drawn to white collar work/internal investigations. Paul Hastings obvi isn't Cleary when it comes to FCPA & other white collar matters, but it does have a pretty solid practice group nonetheless. Doing second looks at both which will hopefully clear things up, but I appreciate everyone's insight so far.
