Office Decor

Post by kiwi4president » Sat Sep 19, 2015 10:23 pm

Just started work two weeks ago at a smaller boutique. Partner walked into my office the other day and said it looked like a prison cell. I copped a couple of framed movie posters (vertigo and big trouble in little china) , a map of Texas, some succulents, and I framed my degrees. Starting to think movie posters may be a bit unprofessional even though I never see clients.

Enough about me, tell us about your office decor.

I plan to put my degrees, as many plants as possible, SO and cat pictures, and some cool stuff I've collected.

OL (with work experience) so discount opinion as you see fit. I agree that movie posters seem unprofessional.

I plan to have Lego sets. I have a pen holder and desk calendar of Lego already, and I'll put a couple of cool sets on shelves.

I framed my degrees but I haven't hung them up yet. I never expected framing to be so expensive. Other than that my office is pretty plain right now.

The diploma and state bar frames, a nice large abstract painting and a couple photos. Received some gifts that I display in my office… a Tiffany desk clock and paperweight, gold pen and pencil set, glassware, a gold business card dispenser, a letter opener (Excalibur into a glass ball) and sometimes I keep candy in a lidded jar on the credenza (way too popular). I saw a really cool wall clock the other day, might spring for that (between having a watch, smart phone and a desk clock not sure how many things I need that display the time!).

I have a bunch of posters of outdoor scenes in cheap premade frames, some family photos and a lucky cat on the desk, and a dying-by-inches bamboo plant.

My boss has a Call of Duty Ghosts poster and it's sick. I think movie posters are fine, but you know, people will differ on things.

I have college football posters.

Just get one of these and aggressively slam it down whenever someone walks into your office.

Same. Especially the cat pictures.
