Horribly indecisive here, but I've narrowed it down to two firms. I love the culture at both-- Latham's is more intense, while WH "slips right on" and feels like home.
I'm mostly interested in litigation, especially IP litigation, but I also used to work for a start up and would seriously consider tech transactions and emerging companies work. From my impression, Latham is very corporate focused, but it has a fascinating fintech group and also some litigation. I also heard it works across offices a lot, so I'd be benefit from the great litigation in DC and SF.
WilmerHale is very strong on IP litigation, but it's less well known in New York. I also interviewed in DC, but I really want to live in New York. The aspects I'm attracted to is that they seem less intense (and perhaps more "lifestyle" than Latham), and a lot of its people go into government, which is where I want to end up.
Any thoughts on this? How accurate of you think it is that I could work on IP litigation through Latham's NY office? Any insights appreciated!
