NY Plaintiff's firms?

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Sep 17, 2015 8:41 am

2L here. How would one get his/her foot in the door at these firms? Does anyone have a list of plaintiff's firms?
Grades are median, FWIW, but doing litigation clinic this year/worked for judge 1L summer.

Here's a sampling...some of these really cross between these categories, so just listed them in these categories to give you a very general sense. Now is the time to apply. Some of these places recruit on campus at H but don't know about elsewhere. If the firm doesn't list an opening for summers on their website or PSJD/Idealist or your school's CSM, just email a partner and ask who to send your app to, if they're accepting for this year, or email to whatever hiring contact they list. Good luck.

-3L, former summer at one of these firms

Civil rights:
Emery Celli
Neufeld Scheck & Brustin
Beldock Levine

Labor:
Levy Ratner
Gladstein Reif

Employment/whistleblower:
Outten & Golden
Sanford Heisler
Getnick & Getnick

General class action and plaintiff's work:
Cohen Milstein
Lieff Cabraser (although as of last year they don't hire summers in NY)
Seeger Weiss

Securities:
Bernstein Litowitz
Milberg
Labaton

Above Poster: do you by any chance have a list of DC plaintiff firms? Just want to see if I missed any.

Previous 3L anon here. I know DC less well, but here are some--

Bredhoff & Kaiser
Tycko & Zavareei
Cohen Milstein
Phillips & Cohen
Relman Dane & Colfax
Cuneo Gilbert & Laduca
Kator Parks & Weiser
Katz Marshall & Banks
Sanford Heisler
Terris Pravlik

Would be great if others want to add to these NY and DC lists, which are far from exhaustive but which just include some of the biggest and/or most well-known firms

FYI Susman, Boies, Quinn, patterson, and Kasowitz all do plaintiff as well as defense work.
