When/if to follow up post CB?

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Sep 14, 2015 4:25 pm

Had a CB early August and still haven't heard anything. Is there any point in following up? The curious part of me wants to shoot an email, but the pragmatic side says nothing productive can come of it. Thoughts?

Also: I'm a 3L with a clerkship so I don't have any offer deadlines coming up.

Also, who to email? Recruiter presumably? Or an attorney?

I had zero expectations, but I followed up 2 weeks after a cb at a NYC firm with a quick email to the recruiter restating my interest and asking about their timetable on decisions, and got an offer 2 hours later. I know the firm had given out offers within a week of my cb, so I'm guessing I was on a waitlist and the follow up made some difference.

I did the same as the above poster and sent a message speaking positively of my cb experience followed by a question about the decision timeline as I had deadlines coming up. I got an email reply in a few hours informing me I would get a call which came with an offer.

This was for a non-NY office about two weeks after the cb.
