Fly-Out interview questions

Post by Utesfan » Sat Sep 12, 2015 3:20 pm

So I am top 25% at a school ranked in the 40s and I mass mailed applications to firms across the nation. To my surprise a very good firm from St. Louis is flying me out for a round of 6 interviews. Do I have a decent shot? I'm trying to play up ties, but I've never had a callback so I'm not sure what to expect. I don't know why they picked me and it seems fishy.

It's costing them several thousand dollars to fly you out and all that so I would think your chances are as good as anyone else's

I hear that for fly outs the chances are really good, like 50%. Can anyone confirm?

I don't think anyone can confirm this and I mean a lot of CBs involve travel.

OP: you have as decent a shot as anyone doing a CB, don't psyche yourself out.

If people said "no you have no shot at all," would it change the way you prepared for the interview? Or make you not go?

I hope the answer to those questions is no. You landed the interview, they are footing the bill, so go prepare, and do your best.

Good luck!

Yep. They are taking the expense to bring you out so they're not gonna waste their time if they aren't serious about a potential offer.
