Gibson Office Split?

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Sep 06, 2015 8:44 pm

Going off of the previous poster's question about splitting at Kirkland...can an SA in one GDC office spend a few weeks at another GDC office? Or would that person have had to interview and get an offer at both offices during OCI?

curious about this too. accepted an offer in a secondary market. i have legitimate reasons for wanting to spend time in a major market (think NY/DC/LA), but was't sure if bringing this up is frowned upon.

Yes, Gibson allows splits on a case by case basis. Why are you guys so afraid to just ask recruiting?

Source: Friend with a GDC offer asked to split summer. Firm was ok with it.

looking at older TLS threads scared me off. it seemed like if you split your summer, you were in danger of being no-offered. this wasn't specific to GDC, and this was right after the economy tanked, but still...didn't want to unnecessarily bring up a topic that could hurt my chances of permanent employment. thank you for clarifying though, very helpful!

You can easily split with the NY office but it's much harder with other offices. From what I've heard from my friends, you need to get a separate offer for the LA/DC offices. Haven't heard about offices in even smaller secondary markets.

Once you get the offer though, almost any office is fair game.
