Pillsbury got raided by Winston and Strawn recently so I would be nervous about their stability. Mayer Brown is a solid firm, don't know anything about Dechert's NYC office though.

I summered at Dechert in NYC two summers ago, and I really liked the people at the firm. On the transactional side, it's great for doing Corporate work (M&A and Debt), Real Estate Finance, and Financial Services (Funds work). Also, as far as Lit goes, the firm's two best areas are White Collar and Complex Products Liability, and it does well in both of them.
