Paul Weiss or Milbank?

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Aug 31, 2015 5:57 pm

I loved both firms when I went and am not sure whether I want to do corp or lit. I am also concerned about QoL (whatever that means as a biglaw firm).
Anyone have anecdotes about either firm? Would turning down Paul Weiss be stupid if I am concerned about hours? I'm fine with 60 hour weeks, but I cringe at the though of getting home after midnight day after day.

If you think there's a serious chance you end up doing lit, you're probably going to regret not choosing PW. They're not really peers for lit. And Chambers would have one think they're not of a very similar caliber for corporate work, but I don't really know anything about that.

NYC Biglaw is going to suck for QOL. Not really any way around it. I'd be hesitant to weight your perception of QOL so heavily at this stage.
