I have a callback at a firm way out of my league... help.
I am top 1/3rd at a T2 and have a callback at a large firm(edited). Is it foolish to think I may have a chance to land a job there?

Is it actually a callback? Or extended screener at the firms office. Either way, it's unlikely a firm would waste money and the attorney's time if they wernt interested. But I don't know all the facts.

What like king and spalding? If a firm is giving you a callback, they clearly do not think they are out of your league. They would not spend several grand bringing in some kid they would not hire on paper as a favor for some random professor. Knock em dead at the cb.

The recruiting manager called it a callback interview. I will just go out and give it my all. I just wanted to see if I was being naive or not.

They must have seen something they liked. Own it!

I got a cb with a V20 firm that I thought was out of my league. I was top 1/4 at a T1. But I got an offer. Sometimes firms do care about fit and personality. Just do whatever you did in the screener

Don't worry about not being qualified! I had a V20 cb and am below median at T6. They didn't even ask about grades the whole time. As was said above, they're not going to waste attorney's time if they're not interested. If you've passed the screener, they think you're qualified.

Slightly below median at T14.
Got a callback from the firm that usually doesn't hire someone with my GPA.
Tried not to think about that, and just went to CB.
To my surprise, I was more confident than I usually am, didn't act desperately at all (I was... it was the best callback for me), and basically had a fantastic conversation with all the interviewers.
Got the offer. Going to be working there next summer.
My advice is, be confident and don't show any nervousness / desperation. Just be yourself. If you got a callback, that means they like you.

Firms often pull a few people from lower ranked schools that they really like. In my summer class last year there were a few people from T2's where most people are not getting biglaw.
