Sorry for the awkwardly worded subject
I'm a rising 3L, worked as a SA at a big firm this summer, got an offer and accepted it. Not doing 3L OCI or clerking or anything, I will be working at my 2L SA firm after graduation.
I was just wondering if it is acceptable to work at another legal employer my 3L year? Could I work at a company or a small firm that is just looking for a clerk during the school year (I wouldn't take the job if it looked like it could turn into a full time associate position after graduation of course, I'd rather someone else have that opportunity). The main issue I can see would be creating conflicts of interest issues but I'm guessing those would be minimal. Just wondering if this is a huge faux paus or something with the future large firm employer or if it's even possible to do this.
Working as a law clerk at another firm during school when already have big law lined up? Forum

If it is a small firm doing DUI work or wills then I think that is totally fine. But personally I would avoid any firms or companies that do more complex work just in case it could create a conflict. I am sure either way it would be fine, but I would want to be safe.

Appreciate the response. So you think the big firm wouldn't care as long as no conflicts are created?
This fell off the first page of the employment forum so I'm going to give it one desperation bump

Why not just ask your firm?
