What's the deal there?
Why are their lawyers there so happy / are lawyers there actually happy? Should it be on my list if I'm solely interested in M&A/cap markets and have a good shot at Cravath/S&C/DPW/Skadden?
Edited to add: should I trust a firm that can't pronounce its own name?

Re: Debevoise
I don't know if their transactional side is any more grueling than the other big NYC transactional firms, but it is certainly just as bad, and Deb is famous for attracting folks seeking out "quality of life" who get crushed by the same 2500 can of whoop-ass they would get anywhere else. I'd certainly consider it but not as a way to chase a QOL unicorn. If you want QOL you basically can't do high-end NY transactional. The clients and economics are what drive the workload, not firm culture.

Re: Debevoise
Debevoise is a great firm. I wouldn't take it over CSM/S&C/DPW for high end transactional as a matter of quality of work or clients, but I'd certainly consider it and might go there if I liked the people and culture there a lot more than those other firms.
