As a candidate, it is certainly nice to feel valued. It says something when a firm feels strongly enough about a person that it can move so decisively after a callback.

For people who got a cahill offer - how long did it take for the official offer letter to arrive - also, did you receive an email confirmation or just an unofficial phone call?

So looks like if no offer within a day or two it's a ding. Anyone get one later than that?

Re: Cahill Gordon Callback -> Offer
I once did a CB with Cahill a few years back and got my rejection letter like the next day. Pretty sure the partner was drafting it as I was in the office speaking with him.

Had a cb on a Wednesday. Got a ding letter delivered to my home address, for some reason, the next week.

Re: Cahill Gordon Callback -> Offer
So it definitely appears that offer either day of or next day is the norm.
I'm interested in people's thoughts about the firm after their cbs. I like that Cahill is a smaller big firm and I generally like the idea of the free market system, even though some people say it creates more of a sink or swim vibe. I liked pretty much everyone I met, although had a somewhat odd interaction with one of my interviewers (not bad and nothing specific, just wasn't really sure what to think after).

Re: Cahill Gordon Callback -> Offer
I liked just about everyone I met; I thought their offices were definitely shittier than a lot of other firms I have visited; one of the partners kept talking about their high PPP, and how their work is second to none; had a couple of really good interactions with two of my interviewers. All in all I feel it's probably a fine place to work as far as big law goes, but I don't think there's anything particularly unique about the firm (other than I guess the purely free market system and the slightly above-market bonuses)Anonymous User wrote:So it definitely appears that offer either day of or next day is the norm.

Yea I'm not sure what to pick. I liked everyone I met at Cahill and I like the idea of them paying above market compensation. But not sure how Cahill compares to some other firms. I like that they offered 100% and I have not heard anything shady about stealth layoffs and stuff, but that could just be because the firm is smaller so not so much info on TLS.
