Appropriate cb expenses
how much is reasonable for meals in Chicago? Also, for transportation to airport from residence, does firm pay or is it expected that you pay for it?

Re: Appropriate cb expenses
i think it used to be something like 15/25/35 for breakfast/lunch/dinner back in 2011, but my memory might be faulty on that. i didn't have anybody strict on it though, i went over at times when i got room service due to flight delays or something.umichman wrote:how much is reasonable for meals in Chicago? yes, all transportation costs will be reimbursed.

Yeah that sounds right above. It's funny bc I would only pay above $20 for a lunch if I wanted to treat myself, but it's perfectly acceptable for firms. Take advantage of it and have great meals!

take advantage of the CC/hotel points and airline miles.Anonymous User wrote:im booking my own cb because the firm doesnt have a travel agent or someone to book it, its a giant pain in the ass. and which meals do i charge. whatever i eat between i leave my house to go ot the cb and the time i leave the firm?
you can basically charge most things from the time you leave until the time you get back. i always sent in receipts from snacks at the airport, etc. in addition to meals.

I actually preferred booking everything on my own, but maybe that's just because I love planning trips lol.
Assuming you're flying in the day before and leaving day of the interview, basically from when you leave the house to the airport and then arrive back in your hometown. So, if your cb ends at 2pm, it's still acceptable to bill dinner before your flight that day/take the in-flight meal.

I expensed internet at the hotel / during flights too. Also went higher on the food budget but in the NYC market. With that being said, I have no idea whether I came in hot with these expense requests or not relative to other interviewees.
