oh, woah. you two have dueling HP applications? that sounds stressful

That would be, but not the case... applied to different components. The offer was for Fed Programs, btw!

Were federal programs, commercial litigation, and consumer protection the only Civil Division branches to post today? Did anyone who only interviewed with another civil branch have their status updated?

I interviewed with a civil branch besides the three that posted and my status has not yet updated; same goes for my co-clerk who interviewed with a different civil branch.

Would you say that 3-4 years is more normal?
Yeah, I would think so. But keep in mind it will vary/depend by component/office/etc, so don't take what I say as gospel, either - it's just my impression and could not be representative. Maybe people do move around more/earlier than I've experienced.

This may be a stupid question, but do applicants ever get more than one offer (i.e., from different components)?

Antitrust's first batch of finalists have been updated. I understand that a few more are coming.

Looks like she is working on a Saturday!

other than immigration stuff, any components with finalists announced where there have NOT been offers made? (i.e., if we were named a finalist yesterday but haven't heard anything yet, safe to assume we're alternates?)

Also wondering this. I know my references were checked by, and I'm a finalist for, Commercial Lit, but no call. Kind of assuming that calls for some components might go out later, but here's another data point of a person selected but not called.

first anon quoted in this post. my references were called monday (first day business day after interviews concluded), i'm a finalist, and no offer. but from my earlier posts on here, seems like i might be the only crim finalist on the board, so not a very helpful data point, i'm afraid.

My guess is we're all fucked forever and probably getting deported instead of offers and then dumped by significant others + family disowned. Is my basic prediction. Just waiting on final confirmation.

I am a EOIR OCIJ finalist who is new to the board. Two of my references have been contacted that I know of. One by email and one by phone call. They were both contacted this past Thursday. Any other EOIR OCIJ finalist have their references checked or any offers? Good luck to everyone!

Hasn't it been explicitly said that we'll probably get calls after Thanksgiving for actual offers?

Chill out.

You may be right! I guess :?: is the appropriate emoticon. We shall wait and see. At least everything is moving quicker than predicted.

Alright I creeped on last year's board. First, they made some sort of magic spreadsheet on google docs and shared their stats anonymously and when they were hearing stuff - really impressive, a little scary.

I think we are still safe for offers for now. Last year most of the finalists went out 17th-19th ish of November but that was Monday-Wednesday, and then they started posting about offers on like that Thursday and Friday. I doubt many of these people are working weekends just to call us. I think it is safe to wait until Monday or Tuesday before we start worrying about whether we are alternates.

Hi, I have a SLIP question. Sorry for posting here, but I can't find a DOJ SLIP thread for 2016.... I interviewed with antitrust last month and I know they checked my references. When I intereviewed, I was told that they'd be making decisions a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't heard back yet. Has anyone heard or does anyone know the general timeline for ATR SLIP? Thanks!

Antitrust(DC) interviewee here. I'm inferring from this it's a no for me. I don't see why there would be a time gap between notifications otherwise.

They're all updated individually by Deanna. Wait until COB Tuesday before you give up hope.

I looked and last year ATR posted their HP and SLIP finalists on the same day, but this year they have only posted the HP candidates so far and they were posted randomly yesterday morning. I don't have any experience with ATR but I would imagine that they will post their SLIP finalists soon, probably Monday or Tuesday? Keep an eye on Avue Monday-Wednesday and the week after Thanksgiving, I think that is when all components will make a lot of moves.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
