Hi. I'm a visa holder who is about to start law school in two weeks. I, like nearly everyone on this board, am interested in biglaw. And because I eventually want to come back to Asia for practice, I am researching which US firms do well in HK or Singapore legal market. It will be awesome if some of you who are familiar with these regions could share a piece of insight.
Thanks in advance!

Milbank is very strong throughout Asia, particularly in Singapore.

Kirkland has a decent HK practice. I'd check in re taxes/expat packages too--they might be quite different bw HK and Sing.
Also, if you do go to Sing, get all your suits made at Oxford tailor. They're awesome.

Milbank is pretty strong in Asia, but I would caution against joining the Singapore office. If you want to do project finance, the young partner you'd be working with is an out of control workaholic (I've heard that it's to the point where she brags to clients that her children don't know her name, for example), and enforces similar expectations from her associates. I've heard there are several other problem personalities in that office too. From what I know the people in Hong Kong are nice--they do a lot of Philippines work.
