Chicago Collar Counties
Last semester of 3L year I will not be on campus of my law school. Looking to do an externship with a DA office in or near Chicago (no prior DA experience, but plenty of public interest such as fed court externship and working in state legislature). I was hoping to get into an office for a semester where I have a chance of getting on after graduating and taking the bar, which is definitely possible in many Central IL counties, but doesn't seem to be the case with Cook County, as it seems waay competitive. Does anyone have insight as to surrounding counties such as Will, Lake, and Dupage, and whether these counties are as competitive as Cook? Or would it still be worthwhile going to Cook for a semester? Pretty open here, and have a post-grad midlaw gig lined up if I want for after so this is more just trying to open up a different possible outcome for myself. Thanks.
