The V15 interviewer OP said that it's okay to bring up grades in response to a "challenge you faced" question, as long as you can show improvement second semester. Anyone have success with this?

I brought up my grades in every single interview, although I had a unique circumstance (along the lines of a parent dying), and that was well received. Grades improved significantly 2nd semester.

Did you list your GPA on the résumé you handed to interviewers during your screeners?
No, I had transcripts available, but nowhere on my materials did it list the numerical gpa.

not feeling great after the first day of oci. just under median at lower T14 and for a couple of the interviews they asked me after ten minutes if i had any questions and i barely got to talk about myself--like they weren't interested. i know it's early and I'm reading the tea leaves but man this is going to be a hellish process

^^^ when they started by asking for your questions toward them, they are some really douch, i encountered one before and i saw he rolling his eyes.

Be assertive and change the subject to yourself. ask something like "This interview has been informational, but I have more credentials and interesting experience I'd like to address"(make sure to do a big smile and play charming at this point)

That was at least my two cents, I mean if you are sensing they are auto dinging you, you got nothing to lose, practice to sell yourself hard in three mins

At the end of one of my screeners today my interview says "Well obviously it's up to the hiring partner but you're an excellent candidate and you should be getting a call within the next week or two to schedule a callback."

Has anyone had experience with that? Don't know how much weight the recommendation from the interviewer counts against the final say of the hiring partner

Had probably on the edge of bottom third grades. Bid really conservatively and practiced interviewing a lot, got an offer early on. Good luck peeps!

^^^Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I had a couple interviewers all but guarantee callbacks (one actually did) only to get rejection emails later. I mean it's very possible for those to turn into callbacks but I wouldn't hold my breath on it. One interviewer was nice enough (or thought he was being nice) to call me and explain that the rejection was only because the hiring manager refused to invite people back as far below the firm's GPA cut-off as I am. Again, I'm sorry. This process is jading me a bit though.

Edit: fwiw it did turn into a callback just now

Demoralizing going through this and also receiving rejection after rejection from the mass mail campaign.

Upper half of the T14, 20 screeners and sitting on 13 cbs, 2 dings, and 5 still in limbo. Just had the first cb today. While my grades are shit, I wrote on to LR so that probably explains most of my success (though I've also gotten very positive feedback on my performance in interviews). Pretty conservative bid list overall, with some reach firms peppered in (1 cb, 1 ding, and 2 limbo for V10).

Stay calm! Try not to psych yourself out. I really think being calm and conversational was the reason people liked me. Also, don't let bad interviews get you down. I had some catastrophic ones, but I was able to forget about it the second I walked out of the door.

Lower T14. .08 below median. First 5 screeners resulted in 3 cb's, and the other two are still up in the air as I just had them today. Keep your heads up everyone! There is definitely some love going around for us.

Suggesting that those with GPAs that begin with a "2._" have a chance? If so, congrats!!!!! :D
