Lateral resume/cover letter forwarding question
I found a posting on one of the job websites (monster, indeed, gobiglaw, lateral.ly) that I'm interested in. Normally, I would just apply and see where it goes, but I was going through the partner list of the practice area and there was a fairly good match with my background (same law school and undergrad). Would it be improper for me to also forward my resume/cover letter to the partner, indicating that I also applied through the website? I did this when I mass mailed (emailing a partner match after mailing the recruiter) with a decent rate of success.
