T2 OCI
I'm top 1% at a T2. After submitting OCI bids I still find myself incredibly nervous about not getting anything, probably based on all the T2 bashing on TLS. Should I be confident? Any good stories from top students at T2 schools to make me feel better? or worse? Not a lot of OCI talk on these threads from T2 students.

Re: T2 OCI
Instead of thinking about this stuff you should just do more mass mailing (serious advice, not flame)

Yes, you should be worried. At my major market T2, only 10-15 big firms came to OCI. A professor told me that half of those firms only came because big wig partners were alums and wanted to hire there, but few, if any, ever made it through the entire hiring committee. Who knows whether that's true or not, but she was an adjunct who worked big law so I believed her. Only a handful of people actually got jobs out of OCI, but most did not, including people in the top 5%. The odds are not in your favor. Still, what are you gonna do now? If you haven't applied for transfer by now, it's too late. All you can do is mass mail and hustle like crazy. Good luck.

Re: T2 OCI
It might work out and it might not. I was top of my class at a second tier school, and I landed a vault 25 firm and a fed coa clerkship. The person ranked just below me didn't land a job through oci and he's an editor for some website (the same job he had before law school). All you can do is prepare and hope for the best.
I didn't do great in interviews. I've basically hit it off well in 3 law interviews total and I've received 3 total offers: 1 though OCI, 1 through clerkship hiring, and 1 firm I interviewed with as a clerk that I ultimately turned down to return to my preclerkship firm. Otherwise I've had plenty of shitty interviews and I could just as easily be back at my pre-law school job.

Re: T2 OCI
Grades are never enough to seal the deal on their own - not even from top schools. For obvious reasons they're quiet about it, but people with top grades sometimes strike out - generally due coming across poorly in interviews. Arrogance, "weirdness," etc. Make sure you put some thought and effort into your presentation and you'll probably be fine though.
Coming from a T2, you should probably make sure you do a healthy mass mailing campaign as well. Surely there are many firms that would consider somebody with your credentials but don't usually do your OCI.

Re: T2 OCI
OP here, thank you for the replies. We have about 50 firms coming to our OCI and looking on their websites it looks like each takes one maybe two from my school. I'm mass mailing and hoping to land some screeners. Will continue to stress.
