Emailing non-alumni?
I've been trying to email alums at various firms I'm interested in just to introduce myself and set up an informational interview. There are some offices I'm interested in that do not have any alums. Should I just cold email a non-alum partner and ask about the firm? Or would it be better to hit up an alum in a nearby office on the same firm?

Don't email a partner. Email an associate in a practice group that you're interested in. Just say you are reaching out because you are interested in the firm and the practice area.
