Cover letter for a familiar firm
I suppose this might be a stupid question, but my number one bid is a firm that I've worked very closely with before. I know the partners that are interviewing very well, as well as the person that is receiving the resumes and cover letters. Most cover letters I've seen tell the interviewer: why I applied to the firm, how I heard about it, contact info., ect. Since the partners and HR people that will see my OCI packet know damn well why I'm applying, should I keep to the typical format? Or how do you think I should write it?
