Lateral to DC in first 5 years of practice
If I lateral as a second- or third-year biglaw associate from another market to a DC firm, will admission to the DC bar suffice until I qualify to waive into VA or take the short exam in MD, or will the firm want me to sit for one of those bars? Fwiw, bar admission rarely matters for a junior or mid-level associate in my practice area.
