Below median at T10...V25 chances?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Jun 19, 2015 12:00 am

GPA is 3.1

What can I do to give me a leg up? I will obviously be bidding all over the board, but I'd love a V25 offer.

I'm sorry but you'll probably have to settle for a lowly V37 and bringing much dishonor to your family.

If you can get offers from two V50s (or three V75s), then you should be able to trade those offers in for a V25 offer.

;/

A bunch of firms that vault regularly recognizes within the top 25 spots (as judged by a bunch of new york corporate associates carelessly filling out surveys on their iphones while taking an extra long shit) hire below median at my school. But these aren't more desirable firms than the ones further down the survey list and this is a terrible way to think about recruiting/your career.

Why do we listen to a survey that labels K&L Gates as more prestigious that Irell?

He doesn't go to your school though bro, you go to a T5 and he goes to a T10 which means it's not even a T6 but better than a T11. Things are probably different for him.

Anyway OP I agree with the general sentiment, your ceiling is like a V41 MAX.

I do 4 reals think the OP won't get a particularly high V number but of course I agree that it doesn't matter (4 reals) and the OP is thinking about the wrong stuff

I'm in the same exact position as OP, and would be thrilled with any firm tbh. You have to adjust your expectations to match your circumstances, even though those rankings are dumb. Besides, those V10 firms are terribly stressful places to work.

Well, T10/V25 = T/V x 1/2.5 = 40% x MEDIAN = 20%. Below median = 19%.

Your chances at a V25 are 19%. Luckily, firms like Munger are only V31 firms, so you have a better chance there. Maybe like 37.4%
