Prep for 3L OCI
I have a 2L SA, but know I want to change markets based on life circumstances. Lets say I have a minimal network in that area. If I were to start hustling tomorrow, what's the best way to do it? Assume grades/school are reasonable.

Grades/school are reasonable? WTF does that even mean? I'd imagine this is way too vague for anyone to give you a tailored response.Anonymous User wrote:I have a 2L SA, but know I want to change markets based on life circumstances. OP Here:
Really good use of anon there.....
If you want more detail, top 20%, T20. Question is more how do I build a network in quick order in the most tactful way? I'm used to developing relationships over a year or so, but I don't have that now. (Life circumstance thats causing me to change markets came up fast)

assuming your current 2L SA firm doesn't have an office in the location you're talking about, did you make any close connections with other firms at your OCI that had offices in that area? if you follow up with a firm that gave you an offer or at least a callback and say you're really interested in their office in that city, could be a good place to start.

Yeah, I had two failed callbacks in the location so its worth a shot.jbagelboy wrote:assuming your current 2L SA firm doesn't have an office in the location you're talking about, did you make any close connections with other firms at your OCI that had offices in that area? if you follow up with a firm that gave you an offer or at least a callback and say you're really interested in their office in that city, could be a good place to start.

You can hustle as much as you want now, and it's possibly it will pay off, but honestly, those firms are busy planning their own summer programs right now. Focus on your grades this semester and your 2L SA. There's plenty of time to contact 3L firms over the summer.Anonymous User wrote:I have a 2L SA, but know I want to change markets based on life circumstances.
