Re: IP lit dead?
The patents supporting the judgment are pretty likely invalid post-Alice. This type of case illustrates why patent lit is likely to cool off.

Re: IP lit dead?
Alice will only increase litigation because people will think they can beat the patent and the only way to do it is fight it out. After a while, Trolls will just move onto hardware stuff.
The only thing that worries me is fee shifting.

What I don't get is why CS/EE tech companies are still going bonkers with amassing huge patent portfolios that are going to be worth less than shit in the future.Anonymous User wrote:CS,EE, not so much for pharma, bio. 1) It's a good defense against competitor suits.Biglaw_Associate_V20 wrote:What I don't get is why CS/EE tech companies are still going bonkers with amassing huge patent portfolios that are going to be worth less than shit in the future.Anonymous User wrote:CS,EE, not so much for pharma, bio. 2) Even a really broad interpretation of Alice and a broad patent reform bill won't make legit tech patents worthless.
