San Bernardino DA Oral Exam 2015

Post by flyncalpoly » Thu Feb 05, 2015 6:33 pm

I have an interview with the San Bernardino DA's office, and am wondering what to expect in the oral examination.

"The test for this position will consist of an oral examination, which will assess knowledge of legal concepts, oral communication, presentation, analytical, decision making and interpersonal skills."

Here's how they did it last year: They provided about 6 hypos on paper. You had like 20-30 mins to review them. Topics included ethics, criminal procedure, etc. You could make notes if you wanted, but they were for your own use and would not be read. Next, a panel of attorneys would quiz you on your responses and ask your reasoning.

Did they ask you to make a opening statement, and how long after did they send you a response for a second interview, etc? Would you recommend brushing up on some particular things?
