Judge gave me copy of letter of rec, is it mine now?
So I interned with a judge and he sent a letter of rec to an employer. That didn't work out(dinged by employer). He at the same time sent me a copy of the letter that he wrote. Now, this has never happened before, and I don't know the etiquette/ethics involved here. Is the letter mine? Can I present it to others if/when its appropriate, or is that never done? I don't want to bug the judge, so I'm asking you all first. thanks.

Why not just ask the Judge? Not sure if there's any real etiquette to it. I think a simple e-mail or phone call telling the judge that you're applying elsewhere and wanted to know if you could continue to use the LOR would ease your mind significantly.
