In Character & Fitness Hell - So I can't get a job

Passed the bar last summer, still in Character & Fitness hell. Feels like Chinese water torture. Anyone else?

Nothing criminal, just civil litigation as I was previously self-employed.

anon from above, I am, in FL, also nothing serious, don't really want to get into specifics. Luckily I have a decent non attorney job to pay bills but it is preventing me from applying to attorney jobs. Also passed July bar.

i know this is sensitive but can anon shed a little light on the self employment issue? did others sue u and this caused the C&F problem?

Have to be vague, but was self-employed and did very well. When the economy went to hell, lost everything and eventually had to declare bankruptcy. BLE was notified of everything my first semester of law school. From what I understood, they said it was ok. I understand they are just making sure everything is ok. But this is brutal, time to start looking for that Barista or FedEx job at this point. Shame is that I have lost some law job opportunities already. It kills having no control over everything. 9 Mos so far with no end in sight.

What happens if you've accepted a FTLT position pre-bar, and then get delayed b/c of C&F? Will employers sack you if the C&F process runs too long? I know that public interest employers (esp. PD, DA, Legal Aid) want folks who can hit the ground running and get into court ASAP.
