Anyone ever intern for them 1L summer in NYC? Thoughts?

If you got this job, great. The best 1L summer jobs are the ones that pay. If you didn't get it, you probably won't.

OP here. I already have a paying 1L internship lined up, and was wondering (already interviewed) if I land it, if its worth it to go for Credit Suisse.

Congrats. If Credit Suisse pays more, take the internship. If it pays less, don't take the internship unless you have strong interest in whatever department your Credit Suisse is in.

If you're non-legal this is an awesome gig. The firms you interview with at OCI will appreciate that you know their clients' business and understand what goes on inside a bank. If you interviewed with legal, still a good gig. If you interviewed with the mailroom, don't tell anyone that.

If your set on big law generally, or financial services transactional/lit particularly, it's great. Every attorney you work with that summer will be a potentially huge contact. Give you advice on selecting firms, hook you up with hiring partners at their prior firms, leads for other jobs down the road, etc

why does everyone on here say this? This advice makes like zero sense at all

Not saying this is necessarily your case b/c you didn't say what your paying offer is, but sacrificing a better resume line for the difference in pay of a few thousand dollars is ridiculous
wtf is 10 weeks of pay when your law school education is worth a quarter million and your career is going to at least like 50 times longer than 10 weeks

If you want to work in the department of credit suisse that you get an offer, its pretty much the bst thing you could do with a 1L summer

Because in general the resume line difference is going to be even more marginal than the pay difference. It sounds like CS might be different though, at least because of the contacts it will give you.

If you want to do corporate then it's difficult to think of a better 1L job to have going into OCI. One could argue it's better than big law, because you don't have to worry about being asked why you're changing firms.

Resume and Cover Letter. CSO also worked with me through the whole process and said this was all that we needed.

Attempted to apply as a 1L intern, but they're application said I failed the pre-screen eligibility because I wasn't graduating between Dec. 2016-August 2017. I'm c/o 2018.

Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong?

just under $1400 a week for 8 weeks.
