Do biglaw firms book flights for callback?

Just wondering, do biglaw firms usually book flights for you or do you book them and they reimburse you?

If you are worrying about this now, stop and focus on your grades. It's way too early to be thinking about OCI.

Most have an agency they refer you to who book a flight and hotel. I have heard of some that will do the hotel and flights during reimbursements, which is pretty TTT

booking yourself is much better. the agencies can be stingy or freaking annoying. also usually limited to certain carriers, and I can find a cheaper flight that fits my schedule better elsewhere anyways

as long as they actually reimburse you and dont jerk you around about it

I mean...if you don't care about tying up several hundred bucks per callback then yeah you can just book it yourself. Most students would run out of money doing that. Also, remember that some firms take MONTHS to pay you back.

You're also booking flights for the same week, because it's in your interest to have it when the class isn't close to capacity. These wind up being much more expensive. You can get last minute bargain date but these norm subject you to shitty conditions (red eye flights, multiple transfers, etc.) They're fine when you see family or are vacationing, but not when you have to be "on" an hour after landing.
