What are people willing to say about Kellogg huber?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Oct 31, 2014 8:55 pm

Have a feeling it's one of the places people are hush hush about but can't hurt to ask. What's the deal? Why do they pay bonuses so high above market for clerks? Obviously you'll work harder there than at a Covington or Williams and Connolly but how much harder? Any first or secondhand info is appreciated.

1. Its true there's not a ton of information out there but I don't think that's because people are hush-hush. It's a very small, almost preposterously selective firm, doesn't do OCI anywhere, and hires basically only federal appellate clerks. Its tremendously difficult just to get an interview, and by the time most people get one (end of a clerkship) they generally aren't posting on TLS anymore. If you have a connection and want to talk about the firm, I've found them quite willing to speak frankly about their work.

2. They work stupid hard. Like, 2400hrs is the minimum for bonus consideration hard. My understanding from speaking to people there both informally and during the interview process is that 2600-2700hrs is a pretty standard load. On the plus side, you get ridiculously substantive experience ridiculously early, and you are compensated extremely well.
