Internship with Public Defender Service in DC

I was wondering what the benefits, outside of the experience and training, that this would provide.

Do you feel that it's a good resume line?
Could it look good for an aspiring clerk?

Are you talking about an investigator internship or a law clerk position? I was a law clerk and I thought it was a great experience. The law clerks have trial practice group which is very helpful in learning trial practice skills. They also have all kinds of lunch and learns throughout the summer with lots of networking and learning opportunities. Addwitionally, my experience in the job hunt after my time at PDS has been great. I want to be a PD, and PDS has a great nationwide reputation that other offices respect. There are tons of former clerks at PDS and they also held one or two sessions for aspiring clerks over the summer. In all, I enjoyed my summer there even more than I thought was possible. I made great friends, networked with PDS from all over the country at the PATH Conference, learned trial skills from amazing attorneys, and got all kinds of experiences. I would highly recommend it.

The networking opportunities are amazing and the name goes far in the PI world. I've had nothing but positive post-PDS experiences.
