Has anyone heard back from Morgan Lewis (DC) with an offer/ding after a callback?

Bump. No one's heard anything back from Morgan Lewis DC? Does anyone have any idea/information about their general callback-to-offer timeframe or when their hiring committee meets?

I imagine they're figuring out if they're having a summer class or who is staying or going after the merger.calibleu wrote:Bump. No one's heard anything back from Morgan Lewis DC? That makes sense... but they seemed pretty certain about having SAs during my callback. Do you think that means that I might still be in the running, even though it's been 2 weeks since my interview, since it might be taking them extra time to figure out how things are going to work with the merger?Actus Reus wrote:I imagine they're figuring out if they're having a summer class or who is staying or going after the merger.calibleu wrote:Bump. I guess I'm just wondering when, exactly, to give up hope. Because I really, really liked everyone I met during the interview, it was a great location/office, etc. and I think I'd be incredibly happy there.

I bet the partners just don't have time to care about the SA program right now.calibleu wrote:That makes sense... but they seemed pretty certain about having SAs during my callback. Does anyone know what this merger means for Morgan Lewis exactly? Am I better off without an offer from them? Has anyone accepted a SA offer from MLB (or heard of anyone else accepting an offer)? Any info would be appreciated...Anonymous User wrote:I bet the partners just don't have time to care about the SA program right now.calibleu wrote:That makes sense... but they seemed pretty certain about having SAs during my callback. **Any current 3L that did the 2014 Summer Associate program. Did you receive an offer? Deadline to accept?
How long it took to get offer after SA completion?

I was in the 2014 SA Program. I got an offer for graduation and accepted it. We got our offers about 2 weeks after the program ended which was tough for us. Normally the firm gives offers on the last day of the program.
I don't really remember when the deadline to except my offer when I was a 2L was, but I think it was something like 3 or 4 weeks after they called me and gave me my official SA offer. Check NALP rules.

When did you get your SA offer (how long after the callback) and which office was it for?Anonymous User wrote:**Any current 3L that did the 2014 Summer Associate program. Did you receive an offer? Deadline to accept?

I got my offer within 3-4 days after my callback. I think because i went early in the week and the hiring committee was meeting later in the week to determine. Office was DC/PA/NYC.

For those that got offers and are going back, is it really doom and gloom at Morgan Lewis or is this thread over-doing it? Are they not extending summer associate and full time offers this year?

lol, in my opinion it's really over doing it. I don't see how Morgan Lewis is even in doom. At least not the office I was in. Bingham is the one who needs help and i think MLB wants to grow and this was a shot at doing that. Nobody I met at MLB seemed to be in gloom.
I think the reason for all of these thoughts about Morgan Lewis is because of the no offers this year which were largely unexpected. It is true that normally, at least the office I was in, it is usually 100% offers. But MLB was in talks with Bingham this summer during the program so i think they no offered some people because they knew they were going to be getting an influx of lawyers from the merger in a year. I don't think its right, but I think thats what happened.

Do you feel comfortable revealing whether it was the DC office or not? As far as the offer goes, I'd say go with your gut. If you're feeling uneasy about it, then maybe it's better to decline the MLB offer?Anonymous User wrote:I got my offer within 3-4 days after my callback.
