OCI firm just posted on symplicity

0 CB/0 Offer Club member here. So a firm I didnt get to interview with at OCI posted a listing on my school's symplicity page. I obviously applied. Would it seem desperate (which I absolutely am) to also follow up with the recruiter, since I'll be in the area, after just applying? TYIA!
