Applying to firm that dinged you at OCI

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Sep 17, 2014 7:57 pm

So it looks like one of the firms that dinged me at OCI is looking for more SAs (awful yield, although i know of a few people going from my school). I'm def emailing them as a hail mary, but how do I skirt the fact I got dinged? The way I see it, I have 4 options:

1) mention i spoke with X interviewer and enjoyed our talk (without saying we interviewed)
2) mention I spoke with X attn in hospo suite and enjoyed our talk (without mentioning interviewer at all)
3) mention i had an interview but am still interested (dont mention ding, they assume i just didnt get it or something)
4) act like i never interviewed at all and straight up make a generic massmail email

Thoughts on which one is best?

Seems like this is Paul Hastings.

Go with option 4, but don't be generic. Talk about why you're interested in the firm/location.

OP. Hastings would be a reasonable guess but I'll stay mull.

Just to clarify, I mean generic in the sense that I'm treating it like any targeted mass mailing w/o any prior contact.

I had a cb with PH even though i got rejected by another office in screener stage

Don't bring it up. They won't bring it up during the interview
