Exit Options
Do exit options actually make your life that much better than biglaw?

Re: Exit Options
You realize that "exit options" means any career that you can possibly get after biglaw, right? Your question is impossibly vague - can you rephrase?

Re: Exit Options
Heh. A friend of mine just went in-house from biglaw. She's getting paid a little more than at her firm, she works 8-6 but gets every other Friday off, and gets 8 weeks of vacation a year. Okay, she admits no one takes 8 weeks a year. But it sounds pretty good to me (if you want to negotiate contracts/leases and do other in-housey things).
(And yes, I know, it's one anecdote. I just wanted to gloat for her.)

Wow, that sounds absolutely incredible. How long was she at her firm? And what region was this?

Re: Exit Options
Two years at her firm. She got seconded to the company for part of that. Not NYC/DC/LA/Chicago.

Right. I am wondering if in house jobs are more intense in the big cities.A. Nony Mouse wrote:Two years at her firm. She got seconded to the company for part of that. Not NYC/DC/LA/Chicago.

It's a big-ish city (as you'd expect for an international company), just not one of the above.WHJTMG178 wrote:Right. I am wondering if in house jobs are more intense in the big cities.A. Nony Mouse wrote:Two years at her firm. She got seconded to the company for part of that. Not NYC/DC/LA/Chicago.
